Evercade VS Supports Local Multiplayer

Lack of multiplayer capability was felt by a lot of users who bought the original Evercade. Thankfully, the new console supports local multiplayer of up to four people. All you need to do is connect compatible USB controllers to the console.

Though Evercade will release its own controller, users can take advantage of the multiplayer feature using other controllers such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller as well as the 8BitDo Wireless USB controller.

Regarding the new Evercade controller, the official Evercade VS website states that:

The Evercade VS also comes with a dual cartridge bay that is complimented by an interface that displays up to 40 games at once.

Evercade VS Is a Home Console

Unlike its predecessor, Evercade VS focuses on being a home console that will allow users to play their favorite retro games on a modern television. In order to accomplish this, the console supports 1080p video output.

This is a welcome move from Evercade, as its previous console only supported 720p output.

Additionally, you can use existing cartridges from the Evercade on the new Evercade VS. The only exception to this is the Namco Museum collection that was exclusively licensed for handhelds.

Naturally, the Evercade VS packs much better hardware than last year’s Evercade. The new console comes with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM.

The Evercade VS also comes with Wi-Fi support that will allow the company to deliver online updates in the future.

A Complete Retro Gaming Experience

Today, most gamers have to rely on emulators in order to play classic games. These emulators require a lot of tweaking and setting up for users to get a playable experience.

This is why Evercade’s cartridge based approach is notable, as it provides users an authentic retro gaming experience.

Furthermore, with Evercade VS supporting the same cartridges as the Evercade, users need not worry about their collection becoming obsolete.
